AI = artificial intelligence

MI = ?  Mica intelligence?  Mothership intelligence?  Mess-O-transistors intelligence?

I can attest to Digikey and Mouser websites being unruly. Even when you know exactly what you're looking for those dropdowns are notoriously picky. Many terms overlap depending on how the part was entered originally, so you really never get a great search result. It's a good thing I have 3 engineers handy to help me navigate. Also, both of those websites have recently undergone an AI injection, and they are worse than before IMO.

Peter, you might have luck with a more MI focused business like Amplified Parts

Bummer, sorry jazzyvee.  If anyone knows if there is a way to post photos "directly" to the forum here rather than linking to externally-hosted photos (or if there's a post with instructions somewhere), I'd love to know!  It would save extra steps too.

Anyway:
Many thanks Rob!
Here is the build data:
 - Top:  Walnut
- Back:  Walnut
- Core:  Mahogany
- Neck:  Maple and Purpleheart
- Fingerboard:  Ebony
- Veneers:  Walnut
- Tuners:  Schaller
- Inlays:  Mother of Pearl
- Scale Length:  25-1/2".
- Alembic Electronics:  PF-6
- Completion Date:  2/14/80 (V-Day  :)  )

Nice to see your guitar and the 12-string guitar here!  All look terrific.  So all 3 of our large-body guitars have walnut top woods; interesting.  Guess that a popular combination back then!

You're absolutely right, it's not a small guitar!  I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Alembic guitars with typical "Series" body shapes (omega, point, small standard) have the exact same body size/dimensions as the basses, and the difference is all in the neck.  So while the long-scale "omega" and "point" shapes already make for fairly large bass bodies, they feel even bigger on a guitar.
One nice thing about these long-scale body shapes - the "extra" body space beyond the bridge means that the entire string length is shifted farther toward my left.  So the entire neck is very easy to access at all times, even the upper-most frets.  Gotta reach a bit farther for the lowest frets, but not a problem if you're used to a bass.

Yeah, they & Mouser are part of why I asked the question; both seem to lean heavily to mass-production-size orders, and every item has about 5M drop-down menus designed for someone who knows what they're doing - which excludes me by a large margin.
Understand that, yes, I have fixed more broken cords than I could count, I have put new harnesses in 2 of my guitars, I have soldered a dead Big Muff during a guitar solo - but you should most definitely not take that to mean that I have any idea what I'm doing.
At least not enough to navigate that wealth of choices that mean nothing to me.........

Miscellaneous / Electronics source?

I stumbled across a YT vid on building a simple 1/4w amp with no controls for what the guy said was about $5 in parts; thought it looked like a fun way to spend an afternoon or 3, and it actually sounded pretty good when he played through it.

Turns that (Radio Shack no longer living up to its name) it is pretty much impossible to find a supplier for non-guitar-specific-value caps & resistors - not to mention the IC & its socket - in quantities of one each.

I really don't want to build 5 of them - let alone 1000; that is lot size range I've hit up against.

Anyone able to point me somewhere?
