It's really dark, but up close, ooh la la! Yes, it's sort of an eggplantish aubergine oxblood color.

the grain looks like my coco bolo. real straight grain and real dark...awesome valentino!

This looks like one of those finishes where you really need to see it in person.  So Val if you could bring it by the house one afternoon that would be nice!

The  guitar really does look quite spectacular in person.  The depth of the wood is gorgeous.
