I'm just a neck, yes I'm only a neck, But someday I'll be Valentino's guitar
That nasty defect will be part of the scrap pile, probably wind up as a tool handle someday.

I hope and pray that I will,
but to-day I am sti-ill,
just a ne-e-eck.
Don't get me started on Schoolhouse Rock.

It was going to be Coco Bolo until Valentino discovered Bois de Rose. Then it was the task to locate a nice w-i-d-e piece. Here it is:

Sweet!
I was thinking Bois de Rose was my little secret.
I'll be very interested to hear how it sounds-- I'm thinking about it for number 2. With African Blackwood (dalbergia melanoxylon).

Oh yeah, almost forgot this picture of the peghead shaped:
and this one of the pickups cut from the top:
I didn't know you were getting wood covers on the pickups - this is going to look slick.

I don't know if you've even had a chance to get out in the shop to see your own guitar progess, so just in case, here's an update:
Looks ready to route to me!

Valentino:
Lookin' real sweet! I love the color and the way the maple(?) lam makes it really stand out. I'll have to stop by and see it in person the next time I'm up that way. This is going to be a beautiful instrument.

Thanks Bill,
I am very excited about it. Of course you are also welcome to come by to play it once it's done.
My regards to senior management; I really enjoyed hangin' out at the wedding.

It's sort of scary, but here's Val's guitar prepped and ready for the next coat of finish:
It is pretty dark, but still a rich burgundy color when it's not covered in scuffed sanding.

I know that Bois de Rose is really going to pop when the finish is finished.
Nice background for the photo.

Hey , It is sort of an eggplant color isn't it? Makes me hungry for some of Momma's parmegiana!
