Quote from: David Houck on October 15, 2026, 10:52:48 AMHere's one I've looked at online two or three times recently; it's local and way out of my price range and my ability to play.A trip to Dream Guitars would be very educational. Those folks aren't very far from you I don't think, probably an easy day trip. That Honduran rosewood guitar has some charm.

Here's one that the player, who works at that same store, thinks is the best guitar he's ever played; and I think sounds pretty good.

It's a Ken Walker. The notes below the video are pretty interesting, and include remarks from Ken Walker as well. He worked for George Gruhn and Guild Guitars.

Quote from: David Houck on October 15, 2026, 07:25:30 PMI must have glitched on Kiln House because it's one of my favorites. I also didn't realize until the other day on the anniversary of its release, there is some conjecture about whether or not Peter Green played guitar on this track from Tusk. Well... clearly he did. Here is the outtake.Quote from: edwardofhuncote on October 15, 2026, 06:03:07 PM... Bare Trees is '72. Kiln House, Mystery To Me and Penguin followed it ...
I'm pretty sure that the post Peter Green order is Kiln House, Future Games, then Bare Trees, etc. I've listened to those three more than any of the others.

I agree, I have heard some P Bass sounds that were thin (though probably just as much the production values - I was a teenager in the'80s) - the F-2B played a big role in my bass journey!

Quote from: David Houck on October 15, 2026, 07:55:40 PMCool! Nice fat tone, and nice playing! Great tune; chord progression, sudden changes; had to go look up who played bass on the original; Chuck Rainey. Think I'll go listen to the original now!Aja is an amazing album - definitely check it out! The Wikipedia entry says people often used this album to check out hi-fi systems, the production is immaculate.
