Well I watched the programme and whilst the video is not focussed on me I managed to get about 5 seconds of exposure on tv with my Series I Europa. And to think we played a whole 90 minute set for the recording.

Here is a video of the programme that was used for the feature on ITV.

Got a short notice dep gig tonight with a UB40 tribute band called UB42 at the Royal Telegraph pub in Derby, UK
I must be one of the few people in my area who don't know much of their music so I'm cramming the setlist into my head. :-)

Looked like a nice place Jazzy... sub gig went well? One thing I find interesting about the U.K. (and here in the Eastern U.S.) is how older buildings are being re-purposed. I'm assuming by the name that the telegraph offices used to occupy that building.

I also couldn't help but notice that's not too far North from merry old Huncote, where they apparently have only one small pub called the Red Lion, which is on some record as having been an ale-house for a couple hundred years. Way up on my bucket list is to go play there one day. ;)

Yeah surprisingly it went really well considering I had to cram the music. In fact 4 of the 6 band members on that night were dep  players although they had played with the band a few times. So it was good that it went really well. Packed house and the sound was really good especially the bass was lovely warm deep and clean. Helped by low ceiling, wooden floor and cabs in the corner oh yes... and an alembic bass. . :-)

That could well be the nature of the buildings origin although t's popular for the name Telegraph to be used in local newspapers so it might have had that use in it's history too.

I have a gig with a reggae band called 1 Eye, they are having an album launch and I'm depping on guitar on this one for a change.
It's at a club in Birmingham UK called the Jam House so if any alembicians are around and up for a night of reggae, pop along and say hi.
Not decided which guitar to take with me yet but whatever it is it will be alembic powered.

Here is one of their tracks called Mr Baliff.

This is the gig I have this evening with the Birmingham Basement band in Solihull.
2nd December at 20:00–23:00
The White Swan, Solihull - J D Wetherspoon
32-34 Station Road, B91 3SB Solihull

https://www.facebook.com/events/209243162832176/

Highly likely to be two alembics on the gig. The bass player has PierreYves old but new looking MK bass and I'll be take the Dragon Magic. Hope there will be some pictures I can get of that rare event. It's a big band jazz gig so we won't be the dominant part of the sound of the band, It will be all those people blowing bits of plumbers pipe off cuts. :-)

Here are the two alembics that turned up at tonight's gig
It's great but strange playing guitar at a gig and hearing a lovely clean sound of this alembic bass holding down the bottom end. Now I know what sound I must be getting from mine. Interesting how different it sounds compared with how my bass sounds to me when I'm playing it. It helps that he was using a Phil Jones briefcase which I have and know the sound of really well.
