Paul -
Don't be frightened, you can still (mostly) get away with being a hermit here. Perhaps you could be the crappy one (see website), or even the crabby one?
I'm not going to ask for further clarification on the crabs, let's keep it in the context of hermits.
I give up on the shirt test. Though there is this thing about suitable backdrops for these gorgeous Alembic insruments, and we've had some previous issues on this matter, e.g. scroll up a bit from
here, and earlier today the schwartz posted one on a Persian rug. I mean, really, guys...
Anyway, a serious question now. Your first post on this thread says My current bass for electic band gigs. Assuming you dropped an R there, it implies you sometimes play an acoustic - yet after reviewing your other posts (thankfully not as many as some of our other Pauls), it seems you gave up on fretless and also don't really like long (what I consider normal, or perhaps marginal) scale.
Given that, it's hard to imagine you'd play an upright, and I can't imagine playing an acoustic bass guitar with a scale less than 34.
So maybe you meant to say eclectic?

PS: palembic, warped in this part of the world means something like twisted (a piece of wood that got wet and bent funny?), or when applied to a human more like strange, deviant, or perhaps even perverted in some sense. I'm not quite sure how to apply that to this Paul, aside from the fact that he's playing an electric instrument on a boat anchored out in some body of water, maybe with really long extension cords... true, his shoes look a bit unusual, but I'm not sure they're sufficiently protective.
Sadly, warped has nothing obvious to do with eating (or cooking) or drinking, and certainly nothing to do with Alembics. I'm really not sure what he has in mind here, unless it goes back to the shirt thing.
PPS: this is so weird. Clearly, out here in California I should be going to sleep instead of writing this nonsense, while Paul TBO is getting an early start on his day in Belgium - yet I'm following up on a post he made tomorrow. I suppose that would imply a time warp, but I don't think that's what he meant either... enough. Good night (well, I'll go play a little first).
