Dave,

   I will email you.

Pierre ...

Private insults . that you'd refer to them here speaks volumes about your character or lack thereof.  Again, meet me offline should you care to debate further.

BTW, I'm not your brother, nor will I ever be.

Alan

I have posted my thoughts about yesterday's exchange here in a post to the Alembic Basses & Guitars section.  I highly encourage those of you who participated in yesterday's discussion to read that post before considering posting anything else to this thread.  It is not appropriate to be negatively and insensitively critical in an FTC thread, and it is not appropriate to carry some past grievance into an FTC thread.  I am hopeful that the respite afforded by the temporary closing of this thread has been helpful, that we've all had a chance to breath, and that we can return to the appreciation of the wonderful craftsmanship that we are so fortunate to be a part of.

Sorry, no pics. When your bass is in spray, there's really nothing to report until it's out of spray. I know the holes got drilled for the controls.

Frank, that was very gracious, and I am deeply touched and very honored. This is the total spirit I was hoping to find when joining the club.

My heart goes out to The Alembic Family, and my amount of respect for them are too great to call anyone out. People know when they are wrong on stuff, and they know when things are not cool; and surely they have the power to make a difference to get through the day. Yeah, I am going to fall on my ass just like everyone on this earth, but with you guys help, I know I got a helping hand to get up.

The power of awesome musical minds, in witness of very awesome musical things.

Over 2 years ago, it started right here in this area. Watching and learning what people wanted on their sandwiches. This is where it starts, this is where everything comes down to making sense.

I am watching and gaining energy from other's dreams with each picture that opens up.

I imagine the possibilities on what dreams may come, and their concerns from each exchange of requests.

Regardless who owns the bass initially, it will eventually exchange to new owners. So, from the stand point of me owning something just as a physical thing... NO WAY. The Toma_Hawk is more than physical, it holds the Spirit of Alembic and the people whole lives had benefited from its creation, and those who would soon enjoy the sounds it may bare and release.

The physical side of the wood, shape and sound will be passed on through generations through generations. However, what makes this bass special, is the story behind the object, good or bad -- from personal emails; this present FTC; past DFN; and music Blogs throughout the Internet The Story and the Spirit will lives on and on... Think about it. The Toma_Hawk is not just any bass, it's all of us, about us. I believe we should unify together and stand together on every bass that manages to get through the rigorous and prestigious halls of Alembic.

Only with God's permission, I will be the first steward of the Toma_Hawk, but frankly, you are also Stewards of your fascinating basses and dream rigs too. I pray, that each generation, continues to another generation with our best intentions, and best examples, for the future was ours, now it's becoming closer and closer theirs. Everything we said, and everything we did with regards of this bass, could and will be read.
I just hope we could leave something positive  for them and future readers, in representing our beloved Alembic society. This is not about the Toma_Hawk, its showing our support for all Alembicans from all walks of life.

So if people want to check out the Toma_Hawk as it moves through the thread, do so with peace and with the honors we must hold for all Alembics and the people who breaks their sleep to work on behalf of our dreams, and dreamers. Let's honor the Wickersham's for there support in allowing our voices to be heard through their portals world wide, and support this serious cause.

Let's keep Love gainfully employed here.

I'm looking forward to more updates.  Let's get back on track here for what matters, the instruments.

Dave knows how I feel about this whole episode, and I'll leave it at that.  Anyone wishing to know my thoughts on the matter can email me privately.  I won't be discussing things here publicly.

This being said, I and many others are looking forward to seeing Hal's bass coming to fruition.  I'm sure it will be the instrument of a lifetime for him.

V/R,

Alan

Imagine Hal now. If there is somebody eager to see pics... He must be him!
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!
