I'll slip this in here.....it seems relevant enough based on how much I like the Elan body style and am since I am considering it for a future custom (3-4 yrs out).
I know that what I'm about to propose isn't a traditional Alembic look, but I'm wondering how an Alembic inspired Jazz bass might come out.
There has been some discussion of Alembic basses which reflect the Fender Jazz bass style, and the Elan is a beautiful interpretation of that body style-

Just wondering about the possibility of having an inlay on the front (ebony perhaps?) that follows the pickguard lines on a classic Jazz. It could even have a lamintated inlay w/ a beveled edge that reflects what you see on multiply pickguards....
I totally understand that this is NOT traditional Alembic look, but the
Alembird has got me thinking about the possibility of an Alembic Jazz.
Any opinions?
