Here are some pictures from a recent pilgrimage up Fort Lewis Mountain. I climb up here a couple times each year for a look-see... these woods are beautiful, unspoiled for the most part. Nobody much comes up here but me, and I have built little stone monuments to mark a trail. From what I read, Havens Wildlife Management Area is a State, rather than a National Forest. It was established after being logged in the 1930's. The odd-looking rocket-shaped thing is a VOR station, something aircraft use for navigation. From what I understand, these are being phased out. Indeed, the site looks somewhat abandoned.
It was a nice day up there. Probably 30+ miles of visibility.
