Dave, you are completely right. I only let the cable in the bass at home, where it is 100% safe. So, those kinds of accidents will never happen at home. Me and my partner know how to move in the musical area at home ;-)
On stage is a different thing. If we play in small clubs, and my basses are put away in a small corner right next to the amps, so I can lead the cables after the amps, I let the cable plugged in. But you are absolute right, on stages where it is a complete mess, the cable + the bass go away until a second before the show. You can be sure, the very first thing I do before speaking to anyone after the show, is putting my basses in their case. But I appreciate that you mentioned it again, one cannot be cautious enough with that kind of instruments.
So, back on topic: any experiences with the Quicklok or other similar stands?
