Oh ...I herad AND read about Lebanese cedar. It's clich? indeed. I just wondered as a top for a bass??? I dunno. I DO know that there was once a parfum Sandelwood who got the cedar perfume.

Wat is dat smaakvol opgebouwd
Riep Jezus, aangenaam verrast
Dat lijkt warempel sandelhout
Maar pint u mij daar niet op vast

Well Paul, I don't think sandelwood is the same as cedar, but it is another one of those essential perfumes you can get in an overpriced bottle from these 'health stores' (money traps run by undernourished health freaks who also happen to run the only stores where you can buy half-decent lemon oil).

By the way, the funny poem is by a cabaretier I used to play the piano for.

Hahahahahaha!

I never heard that one before. Who's the guy? You're correct about the cedar and the bible. Salomo built his temple out of it, 1 Kings 6,7.

Ive heard that today, the only lebanese cedar is on their flag, LOL

Hi Joram,

The guy in question is Frank van Pamelen. If you get his book Dat lijkt warempel sandelhout, you can listen to me playing the piano on a few tracks on the CD that goes with it - not that I want to subject you to unusual forms of torture, but the lyrics are just plain funny, and an excellent display of light verse. Drs P is Frank's biggest fan.

Hey Paul,

Please be advised that if  I mention 'unusual forms of torture', I do mean unusual in the usual sense of the word. And I don't brag about that piano playing. Also do I ever mention my bass playing? As if that doesn't tell you something already.
