The Brother's were in fine form last eve @ the PNC in beauteous Holmdell, NJ (right off the Garbage, er um, Garden State Parking Lot, er um, Parkway, LOL!). The Crowd was mellow, the weather was perfect...cool enough that the leather had to come out of the Tourpack on the Road King on the way home. I got there just in time to miss Los Lonely Boys as the warm-up, grab a big, cold, frosty and a giant pretzel ($11.75!!!), grab my seat and chill to some great toonage!
Greg still sounds good, and Warren never ceases to amaze. His playing continually evolves, probably due to the fact that his guitar(s) never get cold since he's touring with Mule, The Dead, and the ABB all at the same time, LOL!
Oteil was particularly awesome during his bass solo immediately following the triumvirate of Butch Trucks's, Jaimoe's and Marc Quinones's 20min drum odyssey during In Memory of Elizabeth Reed. He mostly plays an old clapped-out J-bass for the old material, but he came out with this quilt-top 6-string bass (didn't catch the name, but it ain't an Alembic) and played jazz chords on it. He played his own rendition of IMOER and then did a scat solo where he sang along to his bass solo. It was very impressive.
