Schroeders look very interesting and it seems people who have 'em like them. I'd love to hear more. However, as Jeff said, they are in an entirely different price range than DrBass (and EarCandy - another lower cost, high quality independent).
I agree with Jeff - check out the BL2260. I have one - birch ply with 2 Emminence 12's (on Delta and one Delta LF), plus a 6.5 mid and a horn. Not uncarryable (sp?) by any means and very versatile. Lots of low/mid punch and as much high end definition as needed at higher volumes for both traditional or high fi basses. Also very pleasant at lower volumes for smaller gigs. At the risk of falling into cliches: They are the most detailed, yet uncolored cabs I've heard for anywhere near their price.
Now here's the blasphemy: I played my 2260 within an hour of playing an Accugroove Whappo Jr (212) - same bass (my former Alembic) and what I'd call similar environments. They sounded very similar to one another (despite the Accugroove's cab-within-a-cab design). As it wasn't a truly fair A-B, I couldn't make a judgement. But for the work I mostly do, any difference that small would be totally irrelevant. Not to pick on Accugroove, either. I like the company, its philosophy and design concepts. Pretty interesting that a DrBass cab that costs $529 was very hard to distinguish from one that goes for $1,400.
