Two for the record. First, Steppin' Stones from around '67,  (1967, that is) me on the left with the '65 Jazz Bass I still have. I was 2 years old at the time... Second, Morningstar, Kansas City, around 1978. Playing the lead guitarist's '67 P-bass. Note edge of Moog Taurus pedals to left of house right flash pot cloud. Just for fun, a fan has this: www.kcmorningstar.com

1981 - Chicago area. My Peavey t-40 is upside down behind me. (I am on the right)

We wanted to make it looked like a smashed pile of equipment, but actually carefully placed everything to avoid damage/scratches. We were punks, but also gear aficionados too!

Nice thread! Here is an old picture from our rehearsing room. Should be around 1986. I'm on the left playing my Aria SB-1000 through an Ampeg SVT and a JBL cab.

This stuff is just priceless !  I can still smell the old beer and cigarette smoke, hear somebody drunk over there, and see a stage full of Peavey and clear plastic drums and MXR and Morley pedals . . .  Time to go back, somebody kill the jukebox !

My favorite 'we're gonna take a break' line:  'Gotta run back to the motel and check the traps!'.

harald..the guitarist has a lonely wah pedal..how would the modern guitarists of today survive with just one pedal instead of the pedal boards which cover the whole stage!
You lot are very brave showing these pics...mine went in the trash years ago(bad haircuts, bad dress sense and even bad music!!)

Maybe not brave, but proud of what we all did to play the music. In my small town in Missouri, in 1967, there were two bands playing full time. I was in the keyboard band, my brother in the 2 guitar band. We rented the Legion hall and each of us took home $100 a night. More than I made when touring a national album release. Heady times indeed. That band from '67 is back together, playing benefits for the local causes. Thanks to all for posting. So very cool. Thanks, Dave. I've been lurking on the site for the 4-5 months since I got my first Epic, a 5 string. I've waited 33 years to finally have an Alembic, and just love it. I'll post pics when I get them taken. Great to be part of the family.

Hey Greg, I live in Prairie Village now but grew up in southwest Missouri in the '60s.  What town were you playing in?
