If tuned BEADG, I thought a 5 string bass really had to be minimum 34 scale. Just like a piano has the longest strings on the low notes, the same physics are in play for a bass guitar. So, If you are going to put a low B on a 32 scale, wouldn't you have to increase the gauge from .135 to, say, .145 to compensate? Going to a 30.75 neck would increase this component even more. While I think the bass is exceptional, and it is in my dreams such a bass could exist, I'd be concerned that the instrument would only work well strung EADGC.
