Two Possible Questionable Auctions for a Guitar and a Bass? Thoughts?

Thomas, I hope you get the bass, especially if it's your old one- that would be awesome!!!  Nothing like being reunited with an old friend, especially if it's an Alembic.  There's really nothing like your first Alembic, is there?

Good Luck, and Godspeed;)

Thomas, Take a deep breath, and try to remain calm.  Don't stress about it- I believe you're meant to have the bass, again.

There's a few things you can do.  You can bid now, and raise the $ at the same time, know what I mean?  Jim seems very cool, so I'm quite sure he'll work with you.
Or you can wait and see what happens with the bidding, know what I mean?  It only has 2 bids on it, as of now, so maybe just wait it out, and see what happens.

I remember a few years ago I was bidding on Rory's 6 String MK Balance K with an Omega Cut with the Coco Bolo top and back, and I lost it in the last 7 seconds or so.  This was the 2nd time I'd seen it posted on eBay- the first time, Rory posted it, and I spoke with him about the bass and basically decided I didn't have the cash at that time, and that if it was meant to be, I'd see it again.

I did see it, again, and I lost it.
That really sucked.

Don't let that happen to you- plan for it, and WIN.  You can do it- just focus, and she will come home to you.

Back when I was bidding on Rory's 6, I couldn't see the bigger picture, then, though- I was meant to buy KFS's SII Six, and I've been playing it like a maniac, ever since.  So I guess, if by some fluke you aren't able to win the bass, then believe me, something better will come along, even though it doesn't seem like it, at the time!

Just an FYI- I've dipped into the old 401k and had a check overnighted to me, then put the money in my bank account and transferred it to my Paypal account, and still was able to complete the transaction- I emailed the Seller, of course, and told him what was up, and he had no problem with it.

If worse comes to worse, I hate to even suggest this, but use a credit card- you only live once, and if the bass means that much to you, you owe it to yourself to re-acquire it, you know?

Hey, I guess it's a good thing I posted this thread, eh?  You might have missed it, otherwise!

Peace;)

Hey Wolf, I am strickly a cash and carry guy.  I just bopped my current 401K (Not my retirement one) for the funds.  I seriously must have this bass.  The money is nothing compared to the memories of it and all the times we had back then.  It will be mine again, this I know.  My first post on this club back in 2003 was about this bass:

You can never go home?  True.  Well, if you can scrape up enough money up in a pinch, sometimes you can at least bring pieces of yer past to your new home.  I am just so excited about all this!  I already e-mailed the seller to please not sell it out of auction, unless I can out bid whoever made the offer.  I am very hopeful everything will work out, and this bass I have had many a great times with comes back home to stay (Till whenever - Nothing lasts forever).  This is sooooo GREAT!  Thanks Mica, you have made my year!!!  OK, must calm down for sleep, or tomorrow will be a very rough day at work, already distracted to begin with.

Thomas___  I can dig it as far as cash and carry goes ,I don't like to use the plastic either except in rare exceptions.

Wolf; I only use it when I know I won't be giving the b***ards any interest. It's the only way I can shield myself from the wrath of SWMBO.

Opps, I should not be yakking about an instrument I am planning on bidding on.  Sorry for the editing.  I will repost all after the auction.  My brain just does not work right any more.  Sorry.

I've decided the bass should go to whomever wants it most, besides me.  So if anyone wants this old bass, don't worry bout me.  Have fun.

Almost five grand for a relatively nondescript longscale Series 1. Amazing. I may have seriously undervalued the basses I sold last year. You're welcome, guys! I'm still glad you got my babies.
