well, the actual maker chimed in in the comments:
hi - my name is Mark Campellone - I'm the guy who built this bass you have for sale here on ebay - a friend of mine happened to see it posted, thought it might be one of mine, and told me about it, so I checked out your listing - thought I might provide some more accurate details about the instrument (if you're interested). The bass (#38 of 102 basses I built) was made in my Rhode Island shop in 1982 - the letters on the peghead are actually MC, my initials - the electronics are not ALEMBIC - I normally used Bartolini electronics and this one sounds like it would be a Bartolini EZQ pre-amp which is a variable Q low pass filter, a type of tone control similar to what's found in many ALEMBICS - the bridge and tailpiece resemble ALEMBIC parts, but they are not - I fabricated them myself from solid brass - if you have any questions feel free to contact me.
