Yeah well ... those are certainly fine examples of the crazy technical chops that both Glen and Roy had.  But I'd rather hear them burning down some Bluegrass than playing these classical "show pieces".  They were both amazing players.

I have always thought that Roy would have gotten more of the recognition he so richly deserves if he hadn't relied so much on clowning early in his career (which I myself loved), and Glen's instrumental prowess got overshadowed by his vocal-star stuff (Hartford had a line in an early song about "practicing your ad libs") & bad acting (yes, I saw both True Grit and, even worse, Norwood).

Just heard these guys on the radio.  Kinda getting a Simon & Garfunkel vibe with a bluegrass tinge.

Holy Cow!  These guys are playing Seattle next month at a theater....cheapest tickets are $100 before fees.  Tickets go upwards of $500.00... I'll just listen to the CD.

I love those guys - and the first thing I thought when I first stumbled across them was "Wow - shades of Simon & Garfunkel!"

If you should find the 2014 episode of Austin City Limits that's half Sarah Jarosz & half them (though they do sit in with her for one number) I think you'll find time very pleasantly spent.

Neil Young, live on TV on Farm Aid 2026.  Not bad for a guy who will be 81 in a couple of months.  Yea, his voice isn't what it used to be, but he's pulling it off better than recent McCartney, IMHO.  It can be hard watching our musical heroes age.  OTOH, there's still Jagger going strong at 83!
