Just read that Molly Tuttle (whose stuff I have posted over in the "Listening" thread - but not nearly as much as Greg has) married Old Crow Medicine Show's Ketch Secor on the 22nd of this month.

He's the one who found an old tape with Dylan singing part of a song that was meant for Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid, and had the stones to finish the lyrics 30 years later (he knows Jakob Dylan, so had him ask -after Bob the fact - if it was OK; Bob said "Sure, as long I get writing credit, too."
That is "Wagon Wheel", which my youngest calls "Stringband Free Bird"; they all do it.

She's a great guitarist... pretty fair banjo player too. There aren't but so many like that in a generation. She's kinda' lost me with her recent efforts but that doesn't take a thing away from what she is capable of, or insinuation that I hope it isn't successful. She's just following the path in front of her. That's what we do. 

Of course congratulations to the new couple. 

*I never minded the unavoidable Wagon Wheel request. For one thing, I know how to milk a tip-jar. I also know how to turn an overcooked chestnut into a 20-minute set-closer with a bass solo that makes drunk hillbilly girls holler and dance. This includes our frontman Josh's Granny.

Senior management and I saw a friend's band last night.  They played Wagon Wheel.  I turned to my wife and said "this is the folk rock version of Stairway to Heaven".
