guess i missed that at first pass.  not feeling the triple-O so i didn't even open the listing.  that looks real uncomfortable to play. imho.  ymmv.   the top omega is pretty much where i rest my right arm whrn i play.  the DW is shaped perfectly for that, btw.  kinda pricey imho, maybe this one's scratching someone's itch.  good luck to all!

Someone is dreaming in technicolor with that asking price.

My first Alembic was a JPJ Custom with Signature electronics.  Aside from being somewhat heavy, the body shape was extremely weird to play sitting down; there is no comfortable position with that omega cutout digging into your leg.  The neck also feels a bit pushed out because of the body shape/where the strap buttons are.  The result being the first fret is a longer reach than it feels like it should be - I expected the nut to be where the 2nd fret is but instead there are two whole frets to go before the end of the fretboard.

I wound up selling my triple omega a good while ago (~20 years?) and I don't miss it.

I feel that!

My Becvar is a long scale triple O and it is way to big for me to play.    It's never been on a gig with me.    Huge!

Mine has full Alembic Series 1 electronics fitted.    I bought it a loooong time ago.   Honestly when I bought it, I didn't expect it to be so LARGE.    I probably bought it because it was zebrawood.

well now that we've hijacked the thread...

fyi fwiw the dragonwing is the same way.  the neck is pushed to the left and it feels like the 3rd fret is where the nut is on my other basses.  it's much easier to play standing than seated for sure.  no neck dive. i vaguely remember my spyder was pretty much the same way.

back to our regularly scheduled conversation....

Hmm. Serial number is pretty close to my Custom. Just 11 days apart. I didn't notice that right off. *I also didn't notice it's May 2016, not 2017.

Slippin' away man... it's all slippin' away.  😔

Someday, I'd love to see your stash — it sounds like there are some incredible things in there.

Another $500.00 price drop. Seller must think he's getting close to "the sweet spot!"   ;D

Looks pretty sweet - I only play standing up and the 32" scale might help - even when I rarely play seated with my 5-string Stanley I let it hang off to the side rather than sit in my lap - doesn't work for playing too long though!

Good thing I'm not in the market for any gear! 8)

I expect they are trying to get a few offers. In 2 months, there's been 1400+ views, and 35 people saved it to their watched list, but 0 made offers. Because the price is unrealistic.

If the unfortunate happened and I had to put my Custom on Reverb this is basically what I'd do... just based on the activity and behavior observed, I'd list it for about double what I hoped to get. If you list it for what you actually want, the serial gear-flippers/tire-kickers/low-ballers will hound you with offers of half of that. So why bother? Just ask the freakin' moon and accept a realistic offer. It solves two problems at once. If you aren't getting offers, do something that gets attention on your item, makes somebody start thinking... how can I swing this?

I'm not shopping for basses anymore, still selling them. (locally) I settled on keeping the two Alembic 5-strings I started with, but I would loved to have had this one a few years ago. If one omega is fun, three of 'em has to be more fun. And it's medium-scale... I'm in. I don't care about LED's but I'd find something else to keep in that battery compartment... extra Tylenol or something.
