Hi,

Would someone be able to tell which pickups this bass is equipped with?On the Alembic homepage it's stated that the Brown Bass comes with an Alembic AXY45 neck and FatBoy45 bridge. On the homepage in 2021 it was listed with FatBoy pickups only. It would be truly great if you please help me out.

Many thanks!

(assuming you have this bass already...)

Slack the strings and slip them off the tailpiece, back the two locking screws out and lift the pickup to take a look at the bottom. A FatBoy should be labeled as such. These are a set I had cast in 'Classic' shells. Yours are likely the matte finish type with gold lettering.

Once confirmed, put the pickup back in place, *snug* the locking screws, slip the strings back on and retune.

*this is also a good opportunity to set or adjust the pickup height if needed. Simply adjust the screws on the opposite corners to the desired height, and again, snug the locking screws. Don't try to crank them "farmer-tight".

Older pickups might have a sticker with WA for Wide Aperture, being a Fatboy, or RA for Regular Aperture.

And yes, you're looking at a Fatboy MXY. A short-lived experiment.
