Title: Vince Is Taking "50 Years" on the road.
Post by: edwardofhuncote on February 14, 2026, 09:04:47 AM
There are not words to describe how much I hate being in large crowds at big venues. But Vince is taking his 50 Years From Home show on the road and it's stopping here in Roanoke this summer. It looks like for now the show will be in the Berglund Civic Center Auditorium. Annnnd... I might have to make that one. If it was that Colliseum, forget it. The Auditorium is a whole 'nuther story. Whole different vibe. I'm in. In a seat that doesn't suck. In a place where nobody is elbowin' me. Hopefully not singing along. And Dear God, PLEASE not videoing the whole show in front of me. Izzat too much to ask?

Yeah, looking like mostly a Summer run through the Southeast and Midwest. I see a couple stops in PA and NY. It ain't typical for us to get a show like this here so I'm probably going if it isn't too outrageous. Again, it's in the Auditorium rather than that Civic Center Colliseum, so I'm okay with it.

I'm wondering what guitars he'll carry on the road? Vince usually has some pretty cool old stuff, in addition to his signature white '53 Telecaster. I saw a YouTube post about that thing the other day.

*Here it is... it's  kinda' chopped up, like a buncha' snips from a longer interview-

Nice interview, I'd say that man likes Teles :)

He doesn't have many prejudices. 😆 Here was a more candid tour of the studio with Tom 'Uncle Larry' Bukovac. What comes out of it is, they all have a story. https://youtu.be/dyT_u4LJa5M?si=UC-QsdayRUvS0nFa

I couldn't make it to the Roanoke show, but one of the sales guys at the store did, and said Vince played until they started flashing the house lights for them to wrap it up. Altogether about 3 hours with no intermission. Said Stuart Duncan and a couple more of the band came in the store to kill some time too.

Hate I missed that.  :(

That video is great - what a collection. When he asked him what four guitars he'd save if there was a fire, Vince subtly gulped.

This morning I saw a picture of him as a kid with that '67 ES-335 - funny to see the guitar twice in one day.

Also, Tom Bukovac seems like one of the coolest guys you could ever hope to run into.

About the same time as each of these EP's comes out, Vince does another hour-long interview with Charlie Worsham where they discuss it track-by-track, and you get an inside look at the backstories, the writers, the players, the guitars... and the ongoing tour.

Somewhere in this one, it's mentioned that EP 10 is on the way.  :P
