Moogfest in Asheville, NC

Hello All,

I'll be playing a duo concert with Harold Budd at Moogfest on Saturday, October 27 at 11:30PM. Piano and acoustic bass, so I won't be playing my Alembic but thought I'd post it here just incase there are any fans of Harold Budd out there.
Should be a really fun festival.

Moogfest it is.

The line-up does not include Wendy Carlos, but an imposing crowd of musicians nonetheless.

Last year Brian Eno was there. He's a big one for me... would have been nice if he was there this year!
Art, thanks so much for the kind message. Hope to meet up with you... and play some Alembic basses!

From some pictures I see that you like 4 strings and are right handed... the only choice here ;) Safe travels!

Sounds like a lot of fun! If you run into Cyril Lance, down there, say hi from me! He's an old jamming buddy from Boston who moved to Asheville to escape his engineering gigs and concentrate on music fulltime. He got sucked into working with Bob and became his go to guy for the last 8 years of his life and is now a chief engineer at Moog. After seeing the documentary about Bob (which I highly recommend) and finding out that Cyril is working there, I have to say that I have a lot of respect for the company and the people in it. Some serious creativity!

Had a really nice time meeting Keith and his girlfriend last night!  We shared some stories, talked a lot of bass and had a nice meal together.  What a gentleman!

Sure had a great time meeting up with you Art. Thanks so much for reaching out and getting in touch. Really fun to meet you and the family (and play those incredible basses!).
Edwin, I took the Moog tour today and asked about Cyril, but he wasn't in today. The strangest thing happened at lunch though.... Me and the girfriend met up wtih a friend of ours for lunch today and he had a friend with him that we'd never met. During the course of the meal she said I wonder if you know Edwin Hurwitz? I must say that stunned me a bit! Her name is Libby Kirkpatrick and I guess you guys go way back... true?
Anyway, it was a grand time in Asheville... beautiful town and great people... and what generous hospitality! Thanks again Art!

That is so awesome! Libby was a huge part of our experience here in Boulder for the first 6 or 7 years and we consider her family. It would be hard to describe the depth our love for her. Of course, if you ever get a chance to hear her perform, you'll understand a bit of it. She's a truly gifted songwriter, guitarist, etc., and just a wonderful human being. Since she moved away, we don't get to see her nearly enough, so we're both jealous that you got to have lunch with her.

It was really great meeting Libby and mind blowing to hear your name come up so randomly!  It really is a big family!

Thought we should take a picture to celebrate the connectedness of it all!

Made it home safe and sound, with no problems at all. Was a bit concerned when the weather started acting up. Thanks again Art. Sure was fun meeting you!
