Looks like fun! I can't wait to attend my 1st one! What kind of music does everyone jam on? Do you take turns playing in the jam, or do you have several amps with more than one playing at the same time?

It has been a little while. John (smuprof) hosted the last one at his house with only John, Olie, Wayne and myself able to make it. But we did have better eats!
Rusty, we've never been organized enough to put together a set list of any variety. And after four gatherings we talk more than jam. It's fair to say that having a new brother in attendance would change that!
I've been fortunate that Wayne, Olie, and John have brought their rigs (mighty fine, thumpin' rigs, too). We'd need to see how it all shakes out.
Almost always a minimum of two playing at a time. When Christian Spieker was with us I think we had as many as four playing at a time.

Sounds like a lot of fun! I have a hodgepodge rig with an Eden Nemesis 400 head & Eden 4X10 cabinet along with a Hartke Kickback 15 I use for a sub, but it sounds good! I would be happy to bring my stuff too. Do y'all have a date set for this year yet? I also have a friend who is a great drummer who lives in the Dallas area if we need a drummer. I'm sure he would love to jam if he's not gigging that day/night. Do you have to play School Days to get addmitted into the jam? LOL!

Ha! School Days is not required and for that I'm thankful.
This thread is the closest to any suggestion of getting together in some months. Maybe some of the guys will hit this.

There was a line in a movie one time that said something like Nobody leaves until they sing the blues! So I figure if a bunch of Alembic players get together, that everyone HAS to play School Days! LOL! I used to know School Days all the way through including the solo, but that was years ago! I might have to brush up on it for the gathering just in case! It WAS the 1st song I played on my Alembic when I pulled it out of the case! I hope this generates some interest, reading about the gathering in Cali this Saturday has me wishing I could go to one! There are 3 of us talking on this thread, let's spread the word!!

I'm going to try to go to the next Dallas get-together.  I live in Arkansas about 5 hours away.  I have not heard of any other Alembicians in this state, so I'm adopting Texas as my Alembic gathering spot.

Sounds great Will! I just made friends on Facebook with another Alembic player in Houston, so he may want to come out too. Your SC looks just like mine!
