The real Scottish Alembic gathering aftermath
« on: April 09, 2008, 09:40:27 AM »
Well,
As you all no doubt know by now, we had a great time at the PINES in my home town of DENNY in Stirlingshire Scotland.
Seems though, that after we had packed up and gone home, some Geek decided to pour Gasoline through the mail box in the bar and torched the place!!
Result----Next day, Police incident tape everywhere, and the bar shut down.
It's still closed as I write, so don't know the extent of the damage as yet.

I was speaking to one of the locals today, and he said that a neighbour had finally flipped!
Seems Police are looking for 2 guys--One named JACKO and the other MP.
Seems that this JACKO character and his sidekick MP had been experimenting with something called a huge EBS rig, and got the volume control set to a level unheard of even on the Richter scale. This apparently caused some consternation with the local Tribespeople that resulted in the aforementioned incident.
Police are anxious to speak to a small fat, bald gnome who was seen sneaking away from the premises at an uncertain hour.

The FIRE really took place!!

WOW, if I were you guys I'd be concerned about the safety of my instruments. In fact, how 'bout you ship them to my house for safe keeping.

To paraphrase the movies...no alembics were harmed in the burning of this public house. We were all well out of town by the time this incident took place. Honest officer.

Graeme,
I laughed so much at your reply there!!
It IS a shame when drink gets the better of some people though;it just leads to violence and destruction for no good reason.
Seems the gnome in question can't be found, but rumour has it that he is a Senior member of some American club. He may never be found.
Best do what Olie says I think, and send all these beauties to his house for safe keeping

Seems now, that someone was on the roof of the building during the night, and pored petrol through the vents of the pub.
I used to leave my gear there overnight!!---------but not the Big Fella
Still waiting for further reports.

Thanks for the advice David & Christian
I gave the keyboard a direct order and it just ignored me. I told it to spell every word correctly and it just made a laughing sound.
Even turning round didn't help; it still laughed at my pathetic attempts to be a human being

George; I'm guessing that you hit the post button, then noticed the mistake, corrected it, and hit the post button again.  A valiant attempt.  But just in case you didn't know, and for those of you who may not have noticed, in the upper right hand corner of your post is a little icon that looks like a piece of paper and a pencil.  For a short period of time (72 hours) after you first post the message, you can click on that icon and edit your message.  I use it frequently to correct my own spelling errors and typos.

from time to time, I randomly read old threads that attracted me in the past... now, this is one of my all-time-favourites  thank you George, for your excellent report, and thanks to you other folks for your contributions.

has this little gnome even been found and jailed ? what about those Jacko and MP characters ? questions, questions, questions....
