Hello !!
Yeah! I'm the first one to post!!
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been an Alembic fan ever since I saw Stanly Clarke in Tokyo back in 1986. Back then, I didn't know what kind of bass it was, but I really liked how it looked. Then, I started to listen to my sister's CD with weird band name Level 42. As most of you know, number 42 is a very bad number in Japan. 42 can be read to sound the same as a word for Death.... So there's no car tags in Japan with 42 on it. They systematically avoid it.
My first Alembic was an red flame maple top Essence. I bought it from a pawn shop for $400 in Arkansas (where I went High school and college). I traded it in for Status Series II headless bass when I was in Japan. Then, I had enough money saved up for a MK signature. I bought it in '96 with Cocobolo, side and front LED etc... I really liked it, but due to some financial problem, I sold it in Japan along with Status 5str Empathy Mark King used on Guaranteed Live video.
Anyway, I just placed an order for yet another Alembic!! This time, I got the following:
Mark King Signature Delux
5A Quilt top and back
Back continuous wood plate
Continous wood truss rod plate
Prep for Series 2 electronic
Delux purpleheart neck laminate
Stinger body
and most important of all.....32 scale lengh.
I am so excited about this!! I know guys and gals at Alembic will work their magic and make me a fantastic instrument.....
Anyway, just wanted say hellow!
