Just thought I'd share my rig with you. I don't know how many bass players use a Marshall with their Alembics.

That's a beautiful bass you got there!!!  As for me, I have yet to plug any of my basses into a Marshall.

Gale, I noticed that you have an Alembic F2B in that rack.  Do you run the bass stereo?  I found that the 20th Anniversary basses sound best that way.  I used to have a stereo Y cord that I would plug into separate channels of the F2B.  This would give separate tone controls for each pickup. Just curious....Michael

Michael,

I have run it stereo and I think it sounds great on stage, but I'm afraid of what the mix of the two pickups sounds like out front. I put the neck pick-up through the bottom cabinet and the bridge pick-up through the top cabinet. So, generally, to play it safe I run it mono. But, since you mentioned it, I think I'll go stereo next gig.

Thanks

Thanks Mike L!

If you like an all tube sound (F2-B and the Marshall), it's hard to beat. My favorite amp is a Fender Showman (6L6 tubes), but with 85 watts, it's not practical for many situations. I also like the Ampeg SVT (6550 tubes) with 300 watts, but refuse to carry one anymore. This Marshall (EL34 tubes) with 200 watts is a good in-between. They all have a different sound though.
