I will say the EMGs are no worse that Jerry putting DiMarzzios in #25 on its way to becoming Wolf (the guitar Wolf, not the bassist Wolf).

Peter , I have considered the fact Jerry did prefer the DiMarzzios. Many decades ago in fact he told me that he liked the craftsmanship and woodwork and attention to detail of Alembic Guitars but he liked his pickup choice for his purpose in particular. It was an interesting conversation that covered various topics for over 30 minutes or so in the mid 1970's
