Hello from The Netherlands
« on: March 30, 2004, 11:47:54 AM »
After a warm welcome on my first post for a question about Alembic electronics, here is my introducton:
First thing you should know about me: I am not a Alembic owner :-). At this moment I am learning music theory (because I got no bass at all). And meanwile I am saving money for a secret Alembic project:

Yes: an Alembic Edwin van Huik. But maybe I will get my custom order.
Cheers!

Allright,
those EVH-models are real mean bass machines! They will suck up all your hours, and you'll have to keep playing them untill your fingers bleed. Meanwhile you'll have to make pictures to post on this club, and get loads of beer in the house in case some Belgium neighbour pays you a visit......

(Get that bass as fast as you can, you won't regret it!!)

Alembic owner, Alembic enthusiast, it's all the same.  All that's required is an appreciation of these fine instruments and a love of music.  A love of beer is a plus but not mandatory.
The EVH is a great choice for your custom project.  Edwin is a great guy too from what I've seen of him.

Great choice Marco, go for it.
Check my showcase signature threads if you have the time. If you want to testdrive two of the first generation evh signatures, you're free to contact me. I have a EVH 4 and 5 string.
Your project has a lot in common with my 5 string. I guess that this one is currently in Hilversum at Ed's shop ?

Good speech Paul !
Peace
Jan

Hoi Marco, welkom!

Nice to see another Dutch Alembic-enthousiast here. I'm a proud 'owner' only since last January, purchased my Orion at EVH's shop, and haven't looked back since. He's a great guy, great player and some day one day I'll definitely place a custom order via his shop.

Groetjes!

When I moved to the U.S. ,about 11 years ago from Portugal, I had a hard time understanding what the people were saying, some people around here have a thick boston accent. The worst part is that I promissed myself that I would never talk like them, well...I was wrong.
