Hey everybody. I'm new to the forum, but I've been acquainted with the wonder of Alembic basses for quite some time. I first found out about Alembic by watching an old Grateful Dead dvd, then seeing the massive archive of featured customs here on the site. My bass rig at this time consist of a music-man stingray and an ampeg BA500 amp, but I look forward to getting an Alembic some day. (already have a running list of 'custom ideas' going in my head for future reference)

THanks for the welcome, and Merry Christmas, by the way.  Maybe some of you guys can help me with some of these ideas I have for my Alembic custom (I have plenty of time to work on it, as I am a bit short on $$$ at the moment)

Welcome Tim, that Stingray is a nice piece. Those BA 500's make everything sound good.

Tim, if you have a rich aunt, go see her now. There is a price increase comming at the end of the year, and Alembic is offering some great discounts on many custom features right now. Hopefully your aunt is a bass player.

Another excellent resource is Valentino at Alembic, particularly if you are thinking an exotic custom. Great guy who seems to enjoy dicussing ideas with anyone who calls. Good luck!

THanks for the info, j_gary, I'll have to see if I can get in touch with Val sometime, but until then...could I throw some of my ideas at you guys to see what you think of it? I dont have a very good grasp of the electronics or tone woods offered by Alembic yet, but just from what I've seen, I like the Exploiter body-style (and I'm tempted to see if they could do an 'omega' cut-out on it) that's all I have so far..I'll have to talk to Valentino about the rest.
