Looking for an Alembic
« on: October 27, 2009, 01:02:52 PM »
Hi everyone, I'm new to this group, and joined mainly because im looking for an Alembic bass for my stepdad. Rock n Roll has always been in his blood but he's never had an Alembic. I know he would like one of the Stanley models but that's a little out of my reach, so I was thinking a Distillate, Spoiler or Persuader - I think he would like those body styles, and priced between 2000.00 and 3000.00 ... I also play bass and the Alembics are gorgeous, maybe I will get one for myself one day. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Welcome Mark!
Why don't you check the Swap Shop and Wish Lists section of the club? You might find something interesting. Every Alembic we know of that is for sale, is listed there!
Hope you find it, and I'm sure, he will love it!

I think my Spoiler was a great starter Alembic.  They are generally well w/in your budget and they hold their value very well.  It's actually the most comfortable of my 3 Alembics and I love the medium scale.

Medium scale is great!  I bought one this past May and love it.  Nice to meet you Mark and good luck with your quest.  Let us know what you find.
