Greetings from the midwest!
« on: June 23, 2012, 11:06:17 AM »
Hi folks,
I've been putting off the introductions until everything was in place.   As you can tell by my username, I am a big Grateful Dead fan.  I have been wanting an Alembic guitar or bass for ages now.  Well, I guess moderation is not my forte.  In the space of a couple weeks I have purchased minty used 4 and 5 string Rogue basses.  I have also just purchased an F1-X and Superfilter (used).  I have gone all Alembic!!  Now I am in the process of selling off tons of stuff to pay for the purchases.  I am finally glad to have achieved one of my ambitions to be an Alembic owner. Thanks to everyone who has given me good advice and just been so doggone friendly.

Oops!  Sorry for the double post.  I thought the first one got lost in the ozone somewhere.

Good to hear you've got your hands on two Alembics. Sad to hear you need to part with other stuff in order to finance but...I think just about everyone here has needed to do the same to afford what can become an expensive habit. I'm currently in the process of selling an expensive time trial/tri bike in order to finance a build myself.

Yeah, they are things I might miss a little.  Honestly, some of the other basses I have just won't get played.  They have got to go.  It actually feels nice to be down to only 3 basses, 2 of which are Alembics.  Woo hoo!

  • Are 3 Alembics enough? NO!

Welcome to the club from a Chicagoan with 3 Alembics.
I hope you enjoy many more years here on the forum and out with your beauties.

3 months later and I am still loving my 5 string Rogue.  Sold the 4 string Rogue after testing them both out for a few weeks.  They were both great, but the 5'er was better for my needs right now.
