New To The Board
« on: November 14, 2012, 10:52:20 AM »
Hey...
Since I've never owned an Alembic, there was no real reason to be a part of this board.  However, since I just sent payment today for my 1st Alembic...a 1996 Essence Exploiter....I thought I should sign up.

According to the current owner of this bass, he bought it new (actually NOS) and in fact he still has the original warranty/Instrument Wood Card and it has yet to be registered.  I've been wanting an Exploiter for a long time and even though this isn't one of the ones made in the mid 80's, I've been told that one with the Essence electronics isn't very common either.

I can't wait to get it.

Here are a couple of pics from the current owner....

Congratulations David & welcome to the board! You will find a wealth of informatione here & the friendliest people on the planet, always eager to help you with problems or answer questions on setup & equipment. I suggest you start with the FAQ & Must Read section of the board. That will help you get aquainted with your Alembic & understand the amazing functionality of these incredible instruments!

Welcome!

The Exploiter / Spyder body shape is one of my favorites. If you have a 34 scale, you may find it to be a bit intimidating at first, but if you work with it, you will find that it rewards you with some impressive tones.

+1 on the FAQ and Must Reads. Highly recommended, especially the set-up instructions.

The Exploiter arrived today.  Words (nor pictures) can describe how beautiful this bass is.

Because I'm so used to Fender-like basses with the upper horn, it may take a little getting used to with the strap button where it is....but time I have. It's a lot lighter than I thought it would be, and although I'm a thin neck guy (the nut is in between 1 5/8 and 1 3/4), the neck still feels great in my hand.
