I think you are going to need to keep a polishing cloth in your back pocket.  One of the prices for owning a black car or instrument is that they show dust and finger prints as no other surface does.  This contrasted beauty should easily be worth the hassle, though.

Very nice catch, Jazzy. The standby switch is an extra touch I like.

It went out on it's first gig yesterday night and was great. The amp I was using wasn't the best for it though but playability was wonderful. I kind of thought when  I bought it that the close string spacing would be a negative point for finger playing or slapping but it's proved to be much more comfortable so far. I've always felt the balance of the Europa is fantastic compared to the few other basses I've played and this is no exception.  Hopefully I will be on a gig soon with my own rig rather than the house back line so I can hear better what the bass is able to produce live.

Thanks Markus, I'm so glad you decided to sell this bass. Mica & the alembic team. Respect due again big time.....!!!!!

Jazzy, this is a lot like my Elan Five.  I prefer
the 'classic taper' inasmuch as it almost feels as if the neck is taper-less.  In other words, the strings feel virtually parallel up the fingerboard with very little flare-out up top (2 nut by 2.5 24th fret).  I could never get use to those w-i-d-e fingerboards.
