Looks a lot like the one in the 2000 catalogue: Click here
In fact, I'm pretty sure its the same one.

Looks awesome, congrats!

Yeah, I agree, Flip. It's also a pretty good show as to what Walnut does over time - it gets more golden in the light parts over time. 10+ years on Walnut looks so lovely!

Yes, I agree, It surely looks like the bass in the catalog. I tried it with my Ampeg today. Great sound. Even my wife hears the difference from my 1993 Warwick Streamer. :-)  I got better pictures today showing the 3D effect.

Welcome to the Club!

Nice bass & rig.

How do you like the combination of the SVT, 8x10 cab & the Europa? I ask because I have a Europa 5-string on order and I have an SVT & 8x10 cab.

Also - that looks like a Hercules 3-instrument stand. I find that to be extremely useful with Alembics.

Thanks for the welcomes, guys.
Concerning the SVT, David, when I got my Ampeg it gave my Warwick Streamer a grander, fuller sound.
Now when I use my Europa I get this nice glassy sound (does that make any sense?) and stil have fullness of tone that I had with my Streamer. It sounds just great.

Yes - glassy does make sense.

A glassy shimmer on top of the fullness is what I hope to achieve with the Ampeg / Europa combo. A foundation that will cut through the mix.

If my Europa turns out as nice as yours - I will be very happy. The 3-D flamed walnut on the mahogany core is a feast for the eyes and ears.

And yes, that's a Hercules 3-instrument stand. It's a good sturdy stand.

Bump.... how did I miss this one for so long.  A great example of why I much prefer the darker woods on Alembics.
Nice move, dealing an ace picture on your first post.

I love the figuring and shimmer on your new bass. I've got a signature as well as a distillate in walnut and they are both beautiful but so totally different than yours. It's one one of reasons why I like walnut so much - each piece is totally unique.
