At Last... Juancarlin's Epic 96W10292USA
« on: December 21, 2009, 04:06:59 PM »
Well, I finally got some pics of my beloved Epic, pride and joy, so here they are... sorry about the poor lighting (pics were taken with an Android cell phone).

Pics do no justice to its beauty, and its wonderful sound couldn't get captured neither. ;) As soon as I record something nice with it, I'll post sound clips too.

Well... enjoy!.

Very nice 5er , Juan.
I love my Epics (fretted and fretless) too. These fine instruments just keep delivering the goods.

And so far it gets EVERYONE (and I mean Everyone!) in total awe when I play it. I get reactions such as It sounds like a PIANO! (Although it isn't! ;) ) or That's an earth-skaking low B!. The tone. Oh, the tone...  I have to say I'm totally, definitely in love with it.

Am already wanting a fretless to swap for my current one ... Another Epic maybe? :P

Nothing to excuse here Juan, and thanks for sharing!
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!

I just had to pass by and say this,

I bought me a bottle of Lemon Oil, and have been caressing my Epic's neck the last couple days. I also bought me today a brand new, shiny 1/4 wrench to adjust my Epic. And so I did.

Boy... oh boy...

Now that I've got it set THE WAY I ALWAYS WANTED TO HAVE ANY OF MY BASSES SET AND WAS UNABLE TO... I've just spent about a couple hours just playing it in total awe... man, this thing almost plays by itself! And without any dead spot! I am even able to play tapping smoothly and without any effort, and the sound is so even, is always there... if I lift my fingers a little, it gets punchy and boomy, and with a slight more force it gets funky as hell... it can be subtle and at the same time, fierce...

I can say for sure, of all the years playing bass, I've never been happier than today. Any good thing I could have said about my bass has now just doubled up.

THANKS to Alembic, to the entire Wickersham family, to all and everyone involved in the birth of my baby, and to all those factors in life that, at a given moment, lined up to bring this baby to my arms!!

Good looking performance shots, Juan. I've got two Epics that get the majority of my finger time
