Moderator's note: I have been asked by the owner to post pictures of this guitar and the following description anonymously. _________________ This is a 1983 Electrum... Yes, it's been modified, but I'm not sure what the stock package was just now. At the moment, it has two filter boards in there, with pots for Vol/Filter frequency and a four-way switch (off/bridge/both/neck). It actually sounds great as-is but I will see about getting the extra holes filled. One of the holes will be too large for a toggle, so maybe a pan pot in the large hole (removing the 4-way) and a pair of Q switches for the filter would be nice. Currently, the filter Q seems very gentle and a switch for more aggressive Q would be great. There's a filled hole in the back of the neck where a strap button was. The mustache tailpiece is a super touch, and I like the not-quite-a-cone headstock. The thumb side of the neck has lots of finish worn off, but there's no bad buckle rash on the back - I am thinking this guitar was played a LOT, either in a home or a studio. There are some dings here and there but after a lemon oil treatment, the fingerboard looks great and the body shines nicely. The headstock is actually in nice shape; the photo makes it look bad! I'll wait to hear from Alembic but I'd say the sides are solid koa. They match a piece I have quite well, same grain and sheen. The fingerboard is very WIDE and FLAT, almost like an acoustic guitar. Chording is easy! Frets and fingerboard in great shape. All in all, it's a very nice axe and will be a nice companion, especially with the extra holes plugged with proper controls.
