Hi, this was my first Alembic Bass ! I bought it right off the wall at Guitar Center San Francisco in 1984. This baby is a 32? scale with a bubinga top, electronics? were upgraded in 2001.

The Bubinga top and Distillate controls make this a really nice Spoiler!

And it's going back in to have the pickup select changed to a pan control when I pick up the new AJ ! Can't Wait !

why would you want a pan control instead of a pickup selector?

Danny, that's a great looking Spoiler!

Might I suggest also changing the Q switch to 3 position while you're at it? Small cost, great improvement. If you like the standard 8 dB boost, 0/6/8 might be nice. If like me you find the standard boost a little harsh, you might enjoy 0/3/6.

Taylor, with a pan control you still have the three basic selections (B, B+T, T) as with the p/u selector (you do lose the mute option) but as a bonus you get two whole ranges of distinctive sounds in between those three.

ok, so just to be able to mix the pickups to your exact liking instead of the standard 3 positions, that makes since, but personally i never blend my pickups unless im using all of one of them or both, and i think pickup selctors look cooler :-)

Adriaan, took your advice and I am having the 3 position Q switch added along with the pan control ! Dropped the bass off today at the mothership and checked out my new AJ ! All I can say is it is just Awesome !

Thanks for the suggestion !
