Love black basses, and the fact it's an Alembic makes it even better! The Dingwall slant looks nice.

Boy that's Black Danno!. If it was mine, I'd slap on a set of DR Black Beauties to finish it off.

Still tying to get that DR endorsement. It was delivered  a day early and I have it here at work. I sent a student to get it from the UPS truck.Who wants extra credit?  Amazing and in tune out of the case as usual. Again a fantastic job by the artisans at Alembic. By the way it is between short scale and medium, 31. something I believe.

Cool stuff Danno.

I'd be curious to hear your take on those angled pickups- in terms of how they sound compared to any other medium/short scale Alembics you have experience with.  I'm guessing that somewhere along the line you've owned or played another mahogany bodied medium scale 5'er.  How do those angled pickups affect the tone (in your opinion)?

Nah, spelling is a bit of a non issue unless its a spelling test. I actually teach, US1, US2, World History, Alg 2. Geometry, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, Transition, English Lit, Business Math. and of course life lessons to emotionally disturbed teens.

Makes me perfectly qualified to be in a band as a bass player. It takes patience to deal with other musicians. I have been flaxxed in the past BTW.

Congradulations Danno, another beauty for sure. It appears from the camera angle that the sustain block is a little more generous on this one. Is it oversized? Bet'll sustain for weeks.
