Beautiful bass, Kevin, nice amp too.  Is that a Thumb Bass behind it in the second picture?  Obviously a man of good taste.

Fantastic bass Kevin. Congratulations.  Yep, that definately looks like a Thumb Bass in the second picture.  I have one and they are nice basses.

No, I have pretty crappy eyesight but I do have
a Thumb.  I like how the volume knob can be pulled up to make the bass passive.  The battery on my Epic went dead one night during a lesson.  It sure sounded sad.

Kevin, great looking bass! Truly love the 3rd pic. Is the headstock logo gold plated? It stands out even from a larger distance like in the 3rd pic.

Hi there thanks - yes according to the email that Valentino sent me it is gold.I used the bass at a band rehearsal last night for the first time and everyone commented on its looks and sounds.I said when I first bought it that I wasn't going to take it out , but temptation got the better of me.

Take it out! It's real beauty is the sound and it needs to be heard. Eventually people get past the looks and really hear it.

Of course, do get it insured.

Yes you're right thats why I took it to see how it sounded in real life as it were.I was so impressed and I don't know ! the sound(s) were just so right it sounded superb. We had a bit of a jam sort of funk/jazz and the bass just came into its own.I got it insured last week but only in the house/theft accidental damage I guess I'm going to have to change it because I can see me and it becoming in-seperable.  Regards Kevin

Insurance can be an issue. I had my stuff through renter's (and later home owner's) insurance through State Farm and when I got it set up I explained what I was doing, so I thought I was covered. When a MIDI pedal blew up (and I discovered it was covered), they decided not to cover me any more. For the past 4 years or so, I have been covered by Heritage Insurance who specialize in covering musicians. Luckily, I haven't had to make any claims, but it's not too pricey and given the amount of traveling and playing out I do, I can't see not doing it.

Kevin, welcome to the club.  Beautiful bass.  That logo is especially striking, the nicest looking one I've seen.  I like it even better than the mother-of-pearl rays.  Very nice.

If you don't want to insure it... Try LoJack... they use them for instruments and computers now.

Heck... if it gets stolen you can find the Pawn Shop it turns up at.

BTW... Wicked nice SC!
