Nice Bass! Now all you need is a Semi to carry your rig to the show........and a lawn mower wouldnt be a bad investment either at this point.(Dont mind me....I'm just jealous) ;~]

Beautiful bass, Anton, congratulations.  Those are some pretty interesting band names in your profile also.

Those are some awesome band names, I like the Post Apocalyptic Nuclear Headhunters the best.

Nice bass...

I like the Les Paul Recording bass too!

I have 2 Les Paul Triumph basses (white and natural)... love the thin necks, NOT the weight. Although it's probably light as a feather compared to your Alembic!

Thanks for the comments guys.

If any one is jeleous or wondering, I don't actualy have series electronics on it just had it prepped for future expansion.

The Les Paul is a work in progress.  I picked it up in really bad shape with the electronics all gutted and mangled (It was spraypainted Opalescent Pink EWE!!!).  I'm designing a preamp filter setup for it, and I'm also going to be fitting my gibson SG-Guitar with alembic LOW-Z pickups, and designing a custom preamp filter configuration there as well.

As for the Tripple O'  Simply amazing.  It is a cruel Master though!!!  It will conquer you you will not conquer it.  I'm so used to playing inferior basses with rediculously high action.  I need to learn how to play with a lighter touch.

(Tangent any of you guys use a compressor to limit transient peaks from slaping so you can still play with a soft touch with out running out of headroom fast?)

Cheers!!!

Antone

Hi Antone:

Send me an e-mail.  I have an extra set of Les Paul electonics, probably complete with the spare pickups, as well.  I bought em on eBay to get the mounting rings for the pickups.

Keith, if you think Triumphs are heavy, the first models like the one pictured are significantly heavier.  Excelent sustain, even with the original bridges.

BTW - Nice omega you got there, and welcome to the club.

Hmm I might consider it, but I was thinking of making a pre amp, resonant filter with variable Q.  Much Like Alembics.  Do you have the metal mounting plate too?   I've found that one must Ground the mounting rings on the pickups or their like a closed loop transformer coupling 60 cycles into the pickup (Mine were not grounded when I got it).

The Paul is actually fretless now (I had to get the neck re-plained so figured what the heck).
The old (Pre Triumph?)Les Paul is one thick slab of Mahogany, and is very heavy.

on a side note, those Servodrive Basstech 7 Sub Horns I'm staning in front of weigh 230lbs a piece, and when used in a 2X2 monoblock like that, have a sensitivity of 110.5dB 1W/1M (1/4 Watt a cabinet, and put out around 142dB RMS -3dB at 28Hz!!!).  I know its a little wimpy it barely serves as a dive bar rig.  LOL

     Have a nice day all

Hi Antone, I use a Trace Elliott SMX Dual Compressor because I too am a finger style player who digs in fairly hard on some riffs. The Trace gives me a very even/consistant tone from note to note and I highly recommend it if you are searching for high quality compression.
Good Luck,
Clay

I too use a compressor to limit signal spikes since I employ a wide dynamic range in my plucking hand.

Sumsound,
I thought that the servo system was an experiment way back when. I didn't realize it actually went into production. what year is your les paul(hagstrom) recording bass in the background? Your Alembic of course looks delicious
