With a neck through bass, the top has little effect on the tonal characteristics of the bass. I would describe the sound as fairly balanced: Bright, but not brittle with an underlying growl. This bass does not want to be put down though, so I may not be able to respond too often.

That is a very unique looking instrument, one of the most unique I have seen and I am sure it sounds incredible.  I am now very interested in buckeye burle for my future Rogue.

Wow,very beautiful.Yup,I like that buckeye burl and the nickle plate.Wasn't it great to play that thing in a live setting for the first time?Everybody digs the sound/look of my purpleheart Rogue 5 so I'm sure you are getting alot of the same reaction.Rock on!

Hey Ken - can you post up a few more pictures?  Especially of the front of the bass's body.  It really looks cool from the two shown.

I never thought of buckeye wood as an instrument wood.  But, I've carried quite a few buckeyes around for luck.  That is so cool looking!And the chrome hardware really accents it well.
