Keavin,

The 5 string MK/SII is a little more tailored to the way I play and the types of music I play.  It has more presence than the Series I.  The Series I is snappier and has a tighter, more focused sound.  The MK/SII has a more complex, more resonant sound.

Both are a blast!

Peace,

I knew this world is not fair to me, some guys got it all. Great basses, James. BTW: why did you move away from using your SF-2 ? I just bought one recently and just after a few days I wonder how I was doing without one before.

thebass,

Even though there are a lot of tones I can get out of the SF-2 that I can not get out of the Series II bass controls, they tended to be sounds that I only used in my basement.  As much as I liked the SF-2, it really came down to taking it out of my rack when I played out (weight thing)and putting it back in when I got home for just having fun in my music room.

If I broaden my music horizons to more edgy jazz / fusion stuff from the current gospel / retro-funk that I do now, I may cop another one.

Peace,

James

I have to admit I'm really hung on that SF-2 I have. It slowly coming into my fingers, although ...I'm still too much in the extremes. However ...it has proven it's usefullness in adapting the sound to the environment you play.

James and Keavin.
IFF there is a day that I visit the US (what is impossible, I cannot visit a continent ....I can only visit people I like on that continent. It is as stupid as US people visiting EU ... jeeeez). So ...when that momet comes I would really like to see you two playing. Completely different set-ups, different musicians but I can feel the soul of music. James in your church, Keavin in the Chicago clubs ...really ...it will be something I'll do once ...when ...ever ...iff ...
