Commissioned?12/04 completed 12/05. Series I Six String, Series II Electronics, Rogue Body, Coco Bolo, Accent woods: Maple/Vermilion, Mahogany body, Custom Asymmetrical "Tobias neck feel", 34" Scale, Aluminum side position markers, strung with Ken Smith Taper Core Medium-6 28-44-63-84-106-130

  Pretty Laminations  ("Great Caesar's Ghost, I'm playing an Alembic!")   Not a light bass, but the balance suits me perfectly. I notice the weight when carrying it much more than when playing it.   I'm amazed at how easy and intuitive/logical the series II controls are. I thought I'd be confused and even caught out twiddling?knobs, instead I was able to make subtle (and not so subtle), tone changes at will.  To my ear it's the first electric bass I've ever played that behaves like an upright: you hear exactly what your fingers and the strings are doing.  The dynamic range and sustain are astounding.   Unfortunately my
