FYI, this is what a few years of R&R back in Santa Rosa can do for your Alembic..... I call it Mothership Rejuvenation!!!!
Jazzy; the wood recipe is walnut/myrtle/walnut on the wings, and walnut & maple for the neck.... The ebony fingerboard is set on a veneer of maple, which looks super-bad-ass w/ the refinish... Ron felt that replacing the original carmel pups was the main fix for 137's electronics qualms, and the new pup's color compliments the walnut and myrtle perfectly.
I'm waiting for a rackmount supply to arrive before I integrate this guitar into my main rig, but so far from the stereo jack into a Pro-Junior and Crate VC508, this guitar has some serious vibe. It contradicts anything and everything you may have heard about Alembic guitar electronics being sterile or too hi-fi.....
