81' 1834 LSB8 Scorpion
« on: April 29, 2013, 02:33:15 AM »
Finally I got this beast !  The sounds are amazing ! I own Hamer's 12 strings and I like the sound as guitar with low octave. But this 8 string sounds are deep low bass sound with clear octave sound. These are quite different more than I thought.  The Scorpion body is very impressive. We know the scorpion that used by Greg Lake (ELP), Chuck Panpzzo (Styx) at arround 80'. This is the exactly that shape. The only difference is horn carving just like contour cut. This carving shows the sleek and sharp horns.

Wow! I love it!
Greg Lake's 8 string was one of the original Alembics that got its hooks in me and fueled my long love affair/obsession with Alembic.
Congratulations!

Interesting tailpiece.

Don't believe I've ever seen one quite like it.

It looks good with the body shape.

Sexy bass. I've always been fond of the scorpion 8'since I was a kid and saw Greg Lakes pirate bass.

RIP  Mr. Greg Lake

I think, many Alembic fans here are led by the performance with the sounds of his Scorpion 8 strings bass.

I'm still a "Lucky Man" when I got this bass.

Eiji, beautiful bass!  A friend of mine used to love listening to Brain Salad Surgery. I didn't realize that I was listening to an 8-string Alembic at that time.  You are lucky to own such a nice instrument!

That is a beautiful bass. It makes my Hagstrom 8 look like a Plain Jane.
