Nearly new Stanley Clarke Fretless
« on: March 29, 2008, 07:18:28 AM »
It seems you like to see pictures! I have just acquired this Stanley Clarke in Walnut

Its a lovely nearly new instrument with a particularly beautiful headstock inlay

Its my first Alembic and I am very pleased to have got hold of it

I expect I will keep this bass for ever!

The owner was surprised when I told him I was going to gig with it, but I am, starting tonight...

Yes, its going to get used but I will do my best to keep it looking as good as it does today! Oh nearly forgot, serial Number: 0713707 usa  (Message edited by rolty on March 29, 2008)

Wow.... really a thing of beauty. I agree with you, they are meant to be played. I use my Alembics at gigs weekly. Remember, we are not here for a long time, we are here for a good time. Enjoy.

It's okay to play it out, just don't do a London Calling number on it.  Stunning bass...this ties the recently posted zebrawood orion for the coolest fretless of all time IMO.

Your bass is amazing! These pictures look a lot better than the eBay pictures. I'm sure it looks better in person too. If I saw it in person I would have been dying to bid on it (having the money is a different story).

You have a real gem of a bass there.
Yep they need to be played so have no hesitation and spread the alembic sound to the masses.

That is a stunner!!  I love that side shot of the body/top lams- really cool color contrast.

I agree with everyone else, play the heck out of that sucker!

Thanks guys, I played it alright, and was amazed at the difference and improvement over my Stingray.

The low notes down to the bottom E are incredible, so clear, and the upper notes so smooth... the band commented on how much better the bass sounded, I spent the night grinning from ear to ear! And I didnt ding it scratch or dent it

This bass will be with me for a long time!!!

I think that the logo inlay has to be in the Logo Top 10.

Hey Rolty, let me know if you are gigging in the West Midlands I'd love to come see that bass in person.

Take care

Wow Rolty,

What a way to make an entrance to the club! That has to be the nicest fretless I have ever seen, congratulations!

It didnt look as nice on the ebay auction as it does in your pics for sure. Best of luck and health to play it

John.
