I'd heard a story about this 34" scale V and how it must have been 4 or 5 feet long, and didn't understand how someone could play something that size.  Obviously, someone forgot to tell John.  Geez what a monster.

That's what I was thinking. If you stood that bass on its end it would almost be as tall as John.

Well those long scale V basses are way too large. 
That is why most V basses are short or medium scale.

Now it looks like the mask must be taken off to reach the truss rod...
Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!
