John Kadlecik with Further
« on: November 24, 2013, 03:25:28 AM »
My dead tribute band guitarist sent me this very nice youtube link to a Further concert featuring John Kadlecik on lead guitar. Right from the start he's playing his modified Orion guitar with Further stage electronics and Midi. The opening riffs of uncle john's band sound more like an acoustic than my acoustic.

When I first opened up the link, it started about 3/4 of the way through with a close-up what looked like a Languedoc guitar.  I wondered who in Further was now playing a Languedoc?  When the view pulled back I saw it was Trey Anastasio jamming with the band.

The acoustic models on the GR-55 are quite good.  I've even used it with my Further instead of bringing out the acoustic at some gigs.  You should see the looks...

Wow, haven't seen this one; thanks Graeme!

Looks like Lesh is a little late!

I love that guitar.  Not only does it sound wonderful and look beautiful, but, for me, it completes a circle.

The band sounds great.

I saw Phil & Friends at Terrapin Crossroads last night.  GREAT VENUE!  John K. was playing his Orion with stage Further electronics all night.   I was no more than 8-10 feet away and got a nice guitar lesson.  (I also got to hang with him a little before the show - very nice guy, and it was fun to talk Alembic).  He sounded great - much better tone than Jackie Greene on an SG and Les Paul through a Marshall.  Anyone here who is planning a visit to the mothership should add a stop at Terrapin Crossroads to the itinerary.

+1 on Terrapin.

Was there last August. It was the last stop on the Sonoma, Alembic, San Rafael tour.

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and good food at very reasonable prices. If you go, be sure to check out the photo collection.

Sorry for the hijack.

My daughter and I headed down there after visiting the mothership last November... Phil was rehearsing w Warren in the big room, and American Jubbilee was setting up to play the restaurant/bar... Very cool place, as I'm sure TRI is too... Good to see they're livin the dream....
