Here's Trip and his Orion 5-string fretless:

If you ever get a chance to see him play, no doubt you will leave inspired.

That's the attitude!
Alas, I think I will feel some frustration too!

Recently saw Trip in Denver.  I don't know if he gets tired of the adjective awesome but it describes his performance and attitude to a T.

If you are out there, thanks again Trip!

I borrowed without asking, the photo I posted from the Lodo bass bash, but Mica's contribution is better.
I had understood the scheduled clinics for the Bass Bash were to be Friday(4th) and Saturday(5th), with Trip playing Saturday night.  It turns out he played Friday and Saturday night with a clinic on Sunday, which I had missed having made other plans.
Spit and other dirty words on that one. . .

That is a really big bass.  Anybody know if it is strung B-Bb or F#-C?

Trip is known for using alternate tuning. He may keep it in a standard setup, until his soul is moved to explore something new.

I saw trip last year at bass day uk. He was indeed a phenomenal player and very friendly with it. Unfortunatly, He wasn't able to bring his Alembic last year - maybe this time. He certainly got enough encouragement from the three Edinburgh Alembicians who went.
